AKO Online
If you’re looking for more information on the features of AKO, read these articles. They will explain everything you need to know about AKO email, File storage, Discussion area, and White pages. Once you know the basics, you’ll be able to use AKO like a pro. The new features include:
AKO email
Army Knowledge Online (AKO) email service is delivered through IMAP email retrieval. It is compatible with most cell phones, including iPhones and Android devices. BlackBerry devices use email aggregators to deliver mail, but AKO email does not. You must enter your AKO email address and password to login. Once you’ve logged in, you can browse your inbox and view any messages. You can also read recent emails by following the instructions on the screen.
Currently, AKO email service is available only to active-duty Army personnel, but you can access your own account with a CAC. AKO webmail allows you to send and receive emails from a unique email address provided to you by the Army. AKO adheres to strict security policies. They limit the number of attempts at logging in. AKO also protects user privacy by not sharing private information without permission. To start using AKO webmail, you need to get a security clearance.
White pages
If you’re looking for a person’s contact information, you can find it through Whitepages, the authority in people search. Launched in 1997, Whitepages provides comprehensive contact information for more than 275 million people nationwide. Other features include SmartCheck, a background check that collects criminal records from every state, and TenantCheck, a screening service for rental applications. Every day, Whitepages answers over 2 million searches. The company also powers 411 and Switchboard.
